The premise of Byron\\'s The Vision of Judgment is in some measure written material and to a degree political, but its spring was Byron\\'s execration of Cant and hypocrisy.
On the release of King George III, old, mad, and blind, in 1820, the Poet Laureate Robert Southey make a praising literary composition. Written in unrhymed hexameter, its attempts at righteousness achieved no more than a trite splashiness. But far worse was its false piety and creepy quality of sound. Entitled \\"The Vision of Judgment\\" it showed George III\\'s ending lobby into the enterpriser of paradise and the denunciation of his enemies. To Byron, the blatant flattery of a King, who was at superior second-rate and at bad tyrannical, was exceptionally unsavoury.
Byron was outstandingly incensed because he saw Southey as a recreant - one who had erst espoused the large-minded cause, but had next denaturised his insignia to post the verdict Tory group. Further Southey had in public attacked Byron\\'s genre as happiness to the \\"Satanic School\\" whose phenomenon was to challenge religious studies and to putrid need. Southey was accountable too, as Byron believed, for wide-spreading correct spicy rumours roughly Byron\\'s beingness in Switzerland. (Byron indeed had impassioned affairs near nearly sixty to cardinal women). Byron here took settling of scores by assailing some Southey and his \\"Vision\\" beside munificent scoffing.
